Morocco, Muses & Mural Transfers

During my birthday week and holiday, I decided it was time to be much more visible on LinkedIn.

Over the past month (maybe even longer), I’m not sure why I haven’t posted much. Sometimes weeknotes slipped into monthly notes. I stopped sharing friends’ posts, commenting on them, or even being interested in what was going on in the industry.

Could I be tired of it all?
Yes - you’re damn right I am.
But I feel experienced enough now to help steer an industry that feels quite lost.

It’s less about shouting into the void, and more about showing up with solutions. Less moaning, more making. Less “what’s wrong with this?”, and more “here’s what’s working”.

Shoutout to two good eggs:

  • Gavin Elliot, who’s showing real optimism around the role of AI in design.
  • Tom Scott, who’s still out here bringing knowledge to the masses.

So with that — you’ll see more of me. What I’m working on. What I’m thinking. Things I usually don’t talk about for whatever reason.

Yes, it’s one of those “I’m going to turn up more” posts…
But honestly? It’s overdue. And it’s going to help me grow, express myself better, and sharpen my communication skills.

✈️ Holiday Mode: Activated

Let’s switch gears: Morocco was fucking ace.

It helps massively when your wife is a professional holiday booker. No resorts — she plans tours of countries.
We went hotel to hotel across Morocco: jungle, desert, sea, mad mad cities. It’s a place more diverse than I ever imagined.

Best holiday of my life? That’s still Bali. But Morocco comes close.

🎥 Shameless plug: Go show some love to Robyn & Mimi’s travel Instagram — it’s full of dreamy reels from the trip.

🧠 Back to Work (Kinda)

I’ve returned to work, gone through all the emails, transferred my Mural boards to Lucid, arranged catch-up meetings, and… opened Jira.
Confluence? Still not emotionally ready. Give me time.

I’m likely leaving this team in the coming months. So before I go, I want to leave behind:

  • A solid archive of design flows
  • A prototype of the national rollout
  • A clear Confluence trail of where things are, why they are, and what we realistically aimed to deliver

I’m hoping to join another team. We’ll see.

🎧 Listen of the Week

Holiday listening was all about recalibrating my mind.
People like Jim Rohn, Les Brown, and Alan Watts helped me reconnect with parts of myself I might’ve left behind to prioritise work.

And musically, I discovered a band called Amistat.
Their song “Seasons” had that same vibe as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young — and I’ve had them on repeat ever since.

Thanks for reading. Catch you in the next one. ✌️
